Great North Run 2009

Postby keithturner on Sat Aug 22, 2009 6:47 pm

After the disappointment of not being able to run in the Paris Marathon in April, Graeme's sister Rachel has been in serious training for the BUPA Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields on Sunday 20th September. If anybody would like to sponsor Rachel then you can do this via our justgiving page at http://justgiving.com/graemeturner. Anne and I are going to be there and hoping to see Rachel as she crosses the Tyne Bridge. Since The Great North Run is the world's biggest half marathon, and claims to have at least 50,000 runners, we may not be as lucky as we were last time she ran in 2007 when she passed within 10 feet of us. For some photos of Rachel at the 2007 run see the Gallery section of the message board.
